It
may not be necessary that your back pain is caused by an injury. Many a
times the real reason behind your continued back pain is bad posture.
Often people feel more relaxed and comfortable while sitting cross
legged, but they don't realise that sitting in that posture can be very
bad for their spine. Sitting cross-legged doesn't let your spine be
straight, leading to overstretching of muscles causing back pain. Also,
sitting in this posture increases the risk of varicose especially in
women.
