Treating Tailbone pain is simple but consulting a doctor for it, is a must

The initial line of treatment for tailbone pain involves a non invasive procedure. This includes:

- Application of ice pack (several times a day) on the affected area for the first few days or as described by the doctor
- Avoid sitting in the same position for long hours
- Use a pillow to support your tailbone while sitting
- Increase the intake of water and fiber rich fruits in your diet

But remember, consulting your doctor is the first step towards the treatment for any bodily pain and the same goes for Tailbone pain too. Your doctor may also suggest some anti- inflammatory medicines to relieve the pain. Follow his prescription.

Your habit of multi-tasking, can be troublesome for your spine

With lives getting busier day by day, multi-tasking has become the need of the hour. So much so that people while doing their household work, office work or even while studying; manage to take time for things like talking on their mobile phones. Often people have this habit of pinning phone between their neck and shoulder. But what they don't realise is that while doing this; they are playing with their body structure and specially their spine. As, when we do this stress is put on the neck which ultimately leads to stiffness in the muscles and ligaments surrounding our neck and spine, causing misalignment of spinal frame. So, be wise and avoid wrong postures while doing your daily chores.

Is your mattress correct for your back?

A good night sleep is very important for our overall health and especially our back. Similarly, a good mattress is also essential for our back health. Often people prefer soft mattresses for their bed, but they don't realise how bad a soft mattress is for their back. When we sleep on a soft mattress, our lower back sinks inside it, which stresses our back muscles and ligament, specially the spinal joints. Thus, misaligning our complete spinal frame. So, it’s better to choose a hard mattress if you suffer from back problems.

The way you sit on your office chairs can invite Back Problems

With the growing work culture, a huge amount of our time is spent on office chairs while working on computer. Did you know that your office chair might be the reason behind your constant back ache. When we sit on chair we often tend to bend over, while working on computer. This position overstretches our spinal ligaments, affecting the discs surrounding our spine, which can further damage our overall spinal structure hence, worsening the back pain.

So, the best solution to keep such problem away is by maintaining a proper posture while working. Make sure to sit with your back straight. You can also use supporting cushions to avoid any kind of stain to your back.

Your Sleeping Position Defines Your Back Health

Often when we wake up in the morning, we find stiffness either in our back or neck. The stiffness or the pain that we experience is due to our wrong sleeping posture. And one of those bad sleeping habit is sleeping on the stomach. When we sleep in this position, strain is put on the spine and back, which ultimately leads to stress on our overall body frame. Also, while sleeping on stomach, we turn our head to a side which causes misalignment between our head and spine, resulting in stiffness.
So, the best position is to either sleep on the back or on the sides to avoid any discomfort.

Ladies beware! Your habit of sitting cross legged can cause back pain

It may not be necessary that your back pain is caused by an injury. Many a times the real reason behind your continued back pain is bad posture. Often people feel more relaxed and comfortable while sitting cross legged, but they don't realise that sitting in that posture can be very bad for their spine. Sitting cross-legged doesn't let your spine be straight, leading to overstretching of muscles causing back pain. Also, sitting in this posture increases the risk of varicose especially in women.
