In today’s busy scenario almost everyone is suffering from neck and back pain, even the youngsters are seen complaining about it. While following our daily routines we all experience these pains but we do not pay attention to them. Some experience only neck pain or only back pain, while some experience pain in both areas.

What causes Neck Pain includes- poor posture while sitting and sleeping, muscle strain, sitting for long hours at office place, abnormalities in the bone or joints, sprains, tension headaches, migraine which can be some of the causes.

Whereas causes of back pain can be-
  • bending awkwardly or for long periods
  • lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling heavy objects
  • slouching in chairs
  • twisting awkwardly
  • overstretching
  • driving or sitting in a hunched position or for long periods without taking a break
  • overusing the muscles – for example, during sport or repetitive movements
Back pain sometimes develops suddenly for no apparent reason.

With the help of X-rays, MRI, CT-scan neck and back pain can be diagnosed properly as they help in revealing the root cause behind the pains and then can be treated accordingly.

People suffering from neck pain and back pain are often advised to take medicines. The pain can also be treated by using ice or heat and sometimes injections are also helpful. Apart from this doing regular exercises and staying calm as well as relaxed are also advised. When all this fails, then surgical procedures may be necessary
