Sciatica- a Painful Spinal Problem

One of the Spinal pain is Sciatica. This is characterized by pain in the back, hip, and outer leg.The main cause of sciatica is compression in the spinal nerve due to degeneration of the intervertebral disc. Lumbar stenosis and few more conditions are responsible for Sciatica. It can be treated with a combination of medications and exercises. In some cases where this does not work, epidural injections are also recommended. Ninety-nine percent of the patients are treated at this stage itself. But roughly one percent does require surgery. These patients should also not worry much as surgeries are non-interventionist and offer the excellent prospect of recovery.
